"Peggy Mangan is a person with a rare balance of heart and smart. She is superbly educated, artistic, and empathetic. Peggy serves on the Board of Directors of Communities for Compassion, a national organization of volunteers who serve the homebound disabled and elderly; she is also a musician and a world-class photographer. Her life experience as a Registered Nurse and a survivor of a life-threatening illness give her a unique perspective that makes her a masterful teacher and facilitator."

Laurie Riley, CMP, ACCM

Tranquility Point Retreats came about after our founder's (Peggy Mangan) journey with Mantle Cell Lymphoma in 2005-2006. Treatment was arduous and painful; ending with a bone marrow transplant and the knowledge, there is no cure for MCL.

Everything had changed and she found it difficult to get back into life.

Post traumatic stress syndrome is a common experience once you achieve remission. Nightmares, anxiety attacks, and depression are all symptoms of PTSS. Peggy experienced a renewal and freedom from PTSS by working with Harpist and Certified Life Coach: Pamela Bruner www.MakeYourSuccessEasy.com. She also visited Harmony Hill Cancer Retreat Center in Washington State and experienced the renewing power of retreat for the mind, body and spirit.

Our retreats are nondenominational and non sectarian and open to anyone that has been under a physicians care for cancer. You must be well enough to take part in light physical activities. For those wishing to explore nature and participate in other forms of physical exercise, we offer nature hikes, biking and kayaking at a pace you are comfortable with.

There is a strong body of research confirming that direct contact with nature increases mental health and psychological and spiritual development.

Along with the opportunity to enjoy nature, you will experience the healing sounds of the harp played by our Certified Music Therapist Megan Gunnell,www.megangunnell.com as she leads you into a relaxing guided imagery of healing thoughts.

Megan will also lead the group in a soul soaring drum circle where you will be invited to let your spirit fly with this powerful activity.

Our retreats are about sharing your story of your journey with cancer while getting the nurturing support you need. Your spouse or caregiver is welcome to attend with you or you may attend alone.

Mission Statement:

To create opportunity for healing and personal growth for those effected by cancer, by allowing the story within to be embraced through sharing with those who have a common experience, in a safe and nurturing environment, and promoting wellness through movement, meditation, and music as ways to nourish a deeply lived life.
